Carmen Arrand started studying part-time in the evenings towards the Business Management N6 Diploma at UniCollege in 2015. She says, “I have always wanted to start my own business, but was never sure what type of business to choose. So to learn more, I decided to study Business Management. Most colleges only offer online-based learning so I was excited to find UniCollege which offers face-to-face tuition.
“My classes at UniCollege always left me feeling motivated and excited and in my second year of studying (N5), I have now finally started my own business. Using the knowledge I have learnt, my business, Ava-Lee Design & Décor, is taking off well! We specialise in custom hand painted and handmade decor for children’s rooms. My canvas paintings are my biggest seller. I love what I do and am able to work from home and finish my studies part-time.
